My Skin Care Routine
Finding a skin care routine that is just right is often hard to find. Testing out all kinds of products is part of the trial and error stage. It’s important to not get discouraged if a product that might work for your friend, may not work for you. I went through the same thing and it’s frustrating if you don’t see results. Here is my current step by step skin care routine that I do every morning and night.
1. Face Wash
I’ve tested several face washes and I just never really found something that made my skin feel good. Most of the time it’s very harsh for my skin and often leaves a drying effect. The current product I use is the Cranberry Real Fresh Foam Cleanser by Neogen. This facial wash is designed for people with sensitive skin, but it can also be used on a normal type skin. The face wash is foamy and lathering my face with it feels great. I don’t get that tightness effect, that I usually get with other face washes. A little goes a long way so when you first try it out, don’t pump too much on your hand.
2. Toner
The current toner that I use right now is the Snail Bee High Content Skin by Benton. I really like this toner because it makes my skin feel fresh and I like how it doesn’t have strong smell to it.
3. Essence
Using an essence is great for an extra boost before applying any serums. It acts as a primer, balances your skin, and hydrates very well. Overall it helps prepare your skin before you do the next step in your routine. The one I use every day and night is the Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence by Cosrx.
4. Serum
My favorite serum to use is the Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop by Klaris. This serum is great for brightening your skin. Using this on skin with hyperpigmentation is really good because it will help brighten any dark spots.
5. Eye Cream
Not many people use eye creams but I think it’s important to use eye creams when you’re younger to prevent any dark eyes and wrinkles. The skin around your eye area is delicate so make sure to apply your eye cream carefully. Pat the skin around your eye area instead of rubbing the product on the area. The eye cream that I use is the Youth-Enriched Eye Cream with Orchid by Innnisfree.
6. Day Cream/Night Cream
In the daytime, I like to use CeraVe’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin because it’s lightweight and easily seeps into my skin. I also like using the Youth-enriched cream with orchid by Innisfree at night. This face cream is a lot thicker than the one by CeraVe. I really like using the face cream by Innisfree as a sleeping mask because it leaves my skin feel extra soft and hydrated in the morning.
7. Sunscreen (daytime)
I like to wear sunscreen all year long to block the UVA and UVB rays. Some sunscreens don’t help protect your skin against both so it’s important to make sure you look into the product before buying it. One of my favorite sunscreens to use is the UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen by Bioré. It is lightweight, so right when you put it on you don’t feel like it’s on your face. It seeps into your skin great and it doesn’t leave a white cast which is a big plus.
Optional
1. Ampoules
I recommend using the Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule by Mizon. I like to use this ampoule before applying my serum because this ampoule’s consistency is much lighter/thinner than the Klairs Vitamin C oil. It can be excellent addition to your skin care routine and can really boost your skin. Use this 1-2 times a week.
2. Sheet Masks
Sheet masks are great when you want to give your skin a boost. They hydrate your skin very well. I really like using sheet masks as way for “self-care” because it helps me relax and its soothing. My favorite sheets are the “I’m Real Sheet Mask” collection from TonyMoly. You can buy these at Urban Outfitters, Ulta, or online at the TonyMoly website.
